Objectives
At the end of the course delegates will:
- Understand the main health and safety legislation requirements relating to the use of service avoidance tools
- Understand the hazards associated with underground services
- Be familiar with the various principals of operation of cable avoidance tools and also their limitations
- Understand the necessity for planning underground service surveys
- Know the correct survey methods and the appropriate marking methods
- Know what the safe digging practices are and how to implement them
- Understand the need for the appropriate emergency procedures
